It's always traumatizing when the bullpen blows a game, and its weaknesses are also obvious, but that doesn't make the above true. As a team Phillies have 20 saves in 32 chances. Mets are 21/33. Dodgers 19/31. They have 14 blown leads and 15 comeback wins. They are also 4-4 in extras which actually surprises me (feels like they do tend to lose those).

Obviously the way things have been going a cushion would be nice - desperately needed, even - tonight.
