Norwood does have decent stuff. Just can't command it. I think he survives a DFA if that is the route they go, though possible he has enough service time where he could elect free agency. No guarantee Appel would be any better so probably no need to make a move now.

I was able to watch the second half of the game, so I missed Eflin but saw the final 5 runs the Phillies scores. Back home to face Arizona. Keep it going.

Why doesn't Nelson get the win? He completed the 5th inning. He pitched the same amount of scoreless innings as Dominguez. It looks funny to see a hold given to Brogdon who gave up a run in an inning yet Nelson gets the win taken away from him by the official scorer. At least I am assuming the official scorer still has the "choice" of who to give the win to in a situation like this when the starter doesn't go 5 with his team ahead.

I assume it's because the Phillies had not yet scored what turned out to be the winning run when Nelson pitched (even though they led at the time). They scored it in the 7th, before Seranthony pitched.

I think that if the winning team has the lead when a starting pitcher departs before five innings, and they don't lose the lead, then the official scorer awards the win to the pitcher he deems to have been most effective. Makes sense to give it to the guy who didn't allow a baserunner.
