Girardi might have considered using Sánchez to start this inning, with a big lead. If he succeeded, he could have pitched multiple innings. Now, unless the Phillies score more, Sánchez is likely to have to pitch in a high leverage situation, assuming that Suarez, Alvarado, and Brogdon are unavailable.

If this goes into extra innings, the Phillies are going to have to pitch someone they really don’t want to use.
