Had ‘em all the way, Harry!
Final
Los Angeles Angels
Philadelphia Phillies
So maybe Stott does have a Big League future?
Let the kids play! What a game!

Hope you were in your seats for the bottom of the ninth!

Yes we left before D’s at bat. And then we stayed just inside the stadium for the final at bat. At least my streak is broken. It seems anytime we go to a professional sporting event, the home team loses.
This game made me so happy. Let the kids relax and enjoy being in the majors.
From @EliasSports : Today was the first time the #Phillies hit a grand slam and a walk-off homer in the same game since July 22, 1985 vs. Houston. John Russell hit a grand slam in the first inning. Mike Schmidt hit a walk-off homer in the ninth.— Todd Zolecki ( @ToddZolecki ) June 5, 2022

The team clearly seems to have relaxed this weekend. I don’t remember watching a game and envisioning a huge home run and then have it happen two innings in a row.
My optimism is back.
An incredible note from @EliasSports .Last #Phillie before Bryce Harper to hit a game-tying grand slam in the 8th inning or later:Jim Command, on July 11, 1954, at Ebbets Field. So it's been a while!— Jayson Stark ( @jaysonst ) June 5, 2022

That really is incredible, 68 years
Yes, thus far the managerial change seems to have made a positive difference. Angels were a winning team before coming to Philly. A sweep at home. Girardi didn't seem to believe his team could play well at home. Could be a bit of an attitude change.
And that was Jim Command's only HR of his career. He played in 14 games in the MLB over 2 years. Baseball needs to speed the game up, but it is a great game!
Angels had also lost 8 in a row coming into town. Now it is up to 11, I think it is fair to say we caught them at the right time. Imagine if we had a 4 run lead, another lead and lost our 11th in a row, Angels fans (if there are any) must be going nuts.
Well, they had a winning record but they'd lost eight games in a row (now 11).
Oop, bkox already got there. In any case, will take it. Would be great to see the momentum continue in Milwaukee. Even greater if Stott has turned a corner.
I am impressed by the improvement in Bohm’s defense. He is working at his game. I like his fire to be good
Maybe all the Joes should have been fired.
I don't recall Maddon being a very popular choice at the time, but he was certainly on people's tongues before the Angels snapped him up. Isn't Mallee also working for him again? (I see he is, but only the assistant).
