The Phils have to do something about their bench. Merrifield and Pache are your RH pinch hitters?

Need someone to step up these next couple of weeks in our lineup. Our pitching can only carry us so far.

Wow what a drop off from not having Schwarber & Harper in the lineup including JT - it’s that bad Kharma from the stinky fish team. Don't we have a player that can provide some HR pop from the minors in our lineup? They look like a minor league hitting team right now. Pache & Merrifeld are not good hitters, can’t afford them taking spots in the lineup anymore

Obviously they didn’t. Bad AB’s leaving runners in scoring position the past few games. It’s not good. Can we clone Harper & Schwarber?

I’d release Pache ASAP! He’s taking up space on the roster. Merrifield is next on the chopping block too.

Nola deserved a better fate and the pen had to be perfect to win the game with this offense.

Turner, Bohm, Casty, Stott and Marsh need to step up and deliver some results.

Stubb's hitting a HR and Rojas creating a run without a hit is not a sustainable offense.

Attended with my elder child. Since they put WAR up on one of the many boards now tried to explain what that is, and seeing the parade of Marlins come up with negative WARs and still win the game was kinda extra annoying.

Pinch hitting this season should be few and far between. Seems like a strikeout is the expected outcome.

We still need a PH. By starting guys like Pache, Merrifield, the non-JT Catchers we have obvious “holes” in our lineup. In late game situations you don’t want those guys hitting in key at bats.

I still think we can use a roster spot for a genuine “hitter”, but to do that you really need to drop a reliever. To drop a reliever you need 1-2 actual 2 inning relievers.

I imagine this is the team we are going to see for the next two weeks, both losing and winning 3-2 and 2-0 games - and probably not winning a single series between now and the A's at home (at Chicago, at Atlanta, Dodgers at home. If Harper and Schwarber are back for the latter that will help a lot).

Swapping Buddy Kennedy for Merrifield isn't going to change that (though by all means, do it), and you can't lose Pache until you are sure Rojas is finishing the year as your starting CF (or someone else is your starting LF) on August 1.
