Really an important win to carry the new enthusiasm forward. Down by 4 runs going to the bottom of the sixth, they come back to tie and win in the tenth.
Hoskins had a good at bat to start off the tenth. The two called strikes after the 3-0 count were just outside the strike zone box, perhaps just touching, to run count 3-2. He hung tough fouling off pitches until the one that was clearly a ball. Kudos to Realmuto and Bruce for solid hits. Phillies walk off with no outs. Might have been able to score even more if they had needed it.
Impressed again by the bullpen, giving them 4.1 innings of scoreless work tonight. Only one hit and one walk over that span. Hammer and Garcia were up to the task of pitching effectively in a critical situation. I am not ready to say they are going to be great relievers, but maybe they will game the confidence presence to be effective in important games to include post season play, if not this season, then soon. I think they have to pinch hit for Morgan with the potential winning run in scoring position. Otherwise, I would have sent him out for the ninth. However, Kapler might have gone to Neris for the ninth even if Morgan had not come to the plate.
Phillies now have won this series with the Mets and will try for the sweep tomorrow afternoon with Nola vs. Wheeler.
