YMMV, but I'd rather watch the bullpen blow a game than a game the team had no chance of winning for all nine innings (basically).
I don't think the Nats loss matters one bit. The Yankees are just that good. Significantly better than the Nats too. Also, even with unearned runs and the Neris blown saves, our prize pitcher hasn't been getting it done lately.
Agree with Schooldoc tho, a game like this is why you don't give up much talent for a reliever and an extra bat, because they need more than those things. Adding a Hamels would only hurt another pitcher's development too. That's fine when you are trading J.A. Happ for Roy Oswalt to go to another World Series but not so much for where this team is.
The big-time free agent is coming though. that's a given. Just a question of who (and, if they can't get one of the top two guys, how old/for how long). There will also be trades. I wouldn't rule out a deadline deal for a controllable player, regardless of how it affects the wild card race.
