Nice win and great start to the series with the Mets.

Another good start from Walker and scoreless innings from Soto, Avarado, and Kimbrel. Not sure I would have use all three tonight, but Thomson did, and they came through nicely.

hoping the Phillies don't have a 1 run lead in the late innings the next two games since they used the most trusted arms today. IMHO they should have tried to get through the 9th with a 4 run lead.

Well, they can still pitch one more game, just not two. They obviously are saving some of the guys you'd normally see with a four-run lead for the middle innings tomorrow (and also have to continue thinking about rain delays).

The fact that Seranthony isn't here does make a bit more egregious though. The Inquirer notes column said Belatti seems good to go and Brogdon is being stretched out for two-inning work. No time like now!

In his previous at bat he thought the pitcher had balked and he got called out on a third strike. It was a quick toss. He was walking away and something without turning to face the ump. I think both Harper and the ump were mad at each other at point.

I guess Rob wanted to make sure to nail this one down since we have Scherzer against Sanchez tomorrow. It would’ve been nice to save at least one higher leverage guy though. Soto, Alvarado, and Kimbrel have all pitched two games in a row.
