I hear you - mostly because we don't know what it actually looks like for a Phillies prospect to come up and stay up/thrive, nor what it looks like for one to ride out a lot of ups and downs and come out the other side as a complete player. Like, who's the last one, Franco? (And he was ultimately disappointing.) And Rhys I guess.
Hopefully Stott's path is like Cesar Hernandez - blocked, utility guy, finds his groove.
The modern management of the 40-man roster also makes it very difficult not to turn to your prospects even when they're raw. We're just willing to see Maton thrown into that fire more than Stott because he's not as good a prospect. I guess if they do opt for Robertson he would probably replace Munoz on the 40.
And they're still thin at OF too.
