Velasquez was strong for 4 innings, got into trouble in the 5th, but it was Girardi's terrible decision to bring in Archie Bradley and his declining stuff against the red hot Schwarber. To make things worse, he chose Hale over Coonrod to go against Josh Bell. Hale is not even a major league pitcher at this point, and the outcomes of both match-ups were almost laughably predictable.
Bad defense, bad pitching and bad managerial decisions overcome in the same game. This team is going nowhere any time soon.
