Yeah I was joking about Casty's lack of speed (even if he still isn't fast). JT said he thought it was a home run and was in his trot, then picked up the pace. Casty must have been slow to leave the bag thinking it might be caught.

Casty must have gone halfway and waited. And legitimately the OF kind of gave up on it when a catch was possible while crashing into the wall.

The ball is a bit deader this year (a good thing). Lots of batters and runners are assuming home runs. Kemp did not run out his ball either.

Yeah I've seen the play at the plate several times but no replay that shows where JT and Casty were earlier in the sequence.

Here how they described it to reporters: "Castellanos hung out near second base just in case the ball hung up long enough to be caught. Realmuto got a good read and was almost to second base before Castellanos took off for third."

The other fun part is that Dusty couldn't give Nick a stop sign without it also probably stopping (or at least confusing) JT.
