If the problem is Marsh than what does that make Castellanos who is worse than Marsh both offensively and defensively? (Other than, it might make them one good LF between them.)
The idea that the Phillies did this to try and upgrade CF or the offense doesn't really hold water. They are treading water, while seeing what they have in Dahl and Pache (without losing one of them) and Merrifield (without eating his $, at least not yet) and giving Rojas five weeks to improve.
And, as ever, they can afford to be below average at certain spots so long as they continue to win every home series. If they lose some more on the road or a few tough ones that is what the cushion of April and May bought them until late July brings more moves (and the return of JT hopefully). The question is, what kind/how big?
Marsh was a perfectly fine CF when he was replacing Herrera and Vierling and helping them get to the World Series wasn't he? He's just not a great one. But he'll still out-WAR Rojas there for now, Considering he's fresh off an injury and thrown back into the position, bumps to be expected.
