Credit to Alvarado for hanging in and gutting this one out. The error gives him a blown save this game, but that should have been the third out in the ninth and a save for him. Then after having to bat in the tenth, he comes back out and holds the Nats to the ghost runner run.
Also have to give a shout out to Harper for his pinch hit two RBI hit that put the Phillies back in the game. Of course, Vierling had a big night, 2 home runs in three at bats, plus a walk.
Nelson was a disappointment from the pen, but Knebel and Familia had scoreless innings before the unearned runs in the 9th and 10th. Falter gave us 5 innings, three runs. Probably okay for the extra starter and it kept the Phillies in the game.
