Kudos to Neris with the 1-2-3 ninth inning for his first save since May 21st. Neris looked good and only needed 8 pitches to finish it off. Hunter, Ramos, and Dominguez pitched scoreless innings before Neris. The combined bullpen totals for 4 IP, 2H, no runs, no walks, 3 Ks. Good pitching all game, holding the Brewers to one run on 5 hits, one walk, and 9 Ks.
Phillies offense put tons of runners on and scored four, which with the good start from Eflin and good relief work from the pen, was enough to win this game. Evens up the series with the rubber game tomorrow.
Home runs from Hoskins (to tie) and Knapp (to take the lead) gave them the offense they needed to win. They did add two more runs in the sixth and had runners seemingly every inning after they led, but they end up leaving 15 on base. Phillies go 2 for 14 with RISP. Phillies had 10 walks to go along with the 9 hits. Hoskins was 3 for 4 with a double, homer, and a walk and Williams went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. Santana was 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
