Crazy, but I believe that is the 5th bunt hit for Stubbs this year, as crazy as it sounds ii believe he leads the majors. I think it is a good bet that a backup catcher has never lead the league in bunt hits.

One Big Inning Has Become a Recurring Theme for Aaron Nola in 2023

Some excepts from the above:

He’s made 15 starts. In seven of them, he’s given up more runs in one big inning than he has in all his other frames combined.

With nobody on base this season, opponents are batting .190 (45-for-237).
With runners on, that skyrockets to .304 (35-for-115).

He’s also given up at least one homer in 11 straight games, one short of the club record

In spite of these difficulties, Nola has proven to be a dependable starter that eats innings and gives the Phillies a chance. If he can correct some of the issues that have hurt him so far this season, he can become more effective in the second half of the season.

Nola's problem is he has no margin for error, I don't know why, but his stuff is hittable when he doesn't hit his spot. It may simply be that none of his pitchers are truly "plus" pitches, it's more his ability to mix them and hit his spots that makes him effective - and when he can't do that, boom. Which is why I worry about him aging, not a sudden collapse, but more what we're seeing this year, similar to Walker, great stretches mixed with innings where you cringe.

On paper, Ranger doesn't seem to have better stuff, but he doesn't get lite up like Nola when he's struggling, spin rates? How he cuts his FB? Being LH? Even without his best changeup, he's been lights out since he worked his way back into game shape.
