Tough not to get the win for Suarez, but they do get the win. Only blemish on this game was the 3 runs given up by Dominguez for a blown save in the eight.

Phillies playing well taking 2 of the first 3 in Ariaona against a good Diamondback team.

Looking for a strong outing from Nola tomorrow.

I don't do that yet. I think you drop him into lower leverage situations to help him pitch through things. Velocity is fine. The breaking ball is breaking like it should. He just is not locating well. Kimbrel and Soto really have not been better. All 3 have just had several bad outings.

Good news is that Alvarado seems back. Lots of velocity and pretty good location on his fastball last night. He was not trusting his cutter so he is not going to be quite as dominant as he was early on until that falls into place too. But the arm seems more than fine.

Didn't get mentioned, but Phillies have clawed their way back to .500 after a horrible period where they dropped 7 below (I think). Nice run, let's get a few over and we can start thinking about a possible postseason again.

Got mentioned just two posts ago.

I wouldn't swap Seranthony for Bellati or Brogdon (or Marte) just yet, nor do I really want to see Ortiz in higher-leverage spots but it's certainly not impossible, especially given how few optionable arms they have, that he does end up with a little reset. Of course an IL stint also possible even if he doesn't appear to be injured.

Would be great to win this series.
