At least there were some signs of life tonight. Need to try to figure out how to win behind our starting pitcher TBD tomorrow and perhaps sneak out of DC with a series win against the Nationals.

Castellanos did everything he could to not lose tonight.

Cost us the game. Or at least cost us staying in the game. Started off with a strike and then four consecutive balls.

Great to come back from being 6 runs down, but losing in the end pretty much wastes this effort.

Disappointing to score 7 with Wheeler starting and not win the game. Phillies now with their third 5 game losing streak of the season.

Turner continues to disappoint. In fact, were it not for his past performance and his contract, he would not be playing well to not be in danger of being removed from the active roster. He has to turn this around, doesn't he?

look on the bright side if Wheeler had been good they probably would have lost the game 4-3

Schwarber and Castellanos cost the Phillies 2 runs to start the game with poor OF defense.
Who knows how Wheeler pitches if they made those plays and he had a quick 1st inning.
This is why defense is now included in WAR calculations.

Replays showed that the ball hit the top of the wall. Casty did NOT botch that play. Schwarber though.. he needs to be at DH ASAP.

Not that play, the blooper where he broke late and lacked the speed to make the catch.
Though Marsh has improved, he's not good enough (Garry Maddox good) to compensate for two corner OFs with below average range.
