I note that the bot puts the errors in the wrong team totals. Tonight, the Giants made two errors but the bot shows the two errors in the Phillies line.
Curtis is making it easy to find a roster spot for the next pitcher coming off the DL. I haven't watched the AAA stats closely but wonder how Milner is doing at LV. I hope Morgan will be ready to return when his ten days are up. Curtis also provides a roster spot on the 40 man roster if they want to add someone during the season. Unless they see something in Curtis that I haven't seen in the few times he has pitched for the Phillies, I don't see him making it to the end of this season in the organization.
A great win tonight to ensure a series win. A sweep tomorrow would be super great. Pivetta only goes 5 innings, but no runs on 4 hits, no walks, 7 Ks is a solid 5 inning start. He earns the win and evens his record at 2-2. The bullpen gave them 3 scoreless innings before Curtis allowed the 2 runs in the 9th. Luckily, they had the very big lead and were not in danger of the Giants coming back.
Franco and Santana have 3 hit games. Santana with a double and 5 RBIs, also reached on the error in his last at bat. I thought he might have gotten his 4th hit of the night but the error was probably the right call. Franco with another home run and 2 RBIs. Herrera was hitless but walked 3 times. A good game at the plate IMO. I was also pleased to see Knapp go 1 for 3 with a walk.
