That slider/cutter gives hitters something to think about, and keep them from keying FB/curve.
His location was a bit off, but he made the big pitches when it counted, again and again.
Perfect example why velocity is overrated, now I don't think they should be drafting Eastman or trading for anymore Eshelman, types, not because they lack velocity but because they don't have the great secondary pitches you need. Even Nola isn't the same when he doesn't have both the curve and change working in the same game.
SD is only throwing 97 these days and is starting to learn to use his secondary pitches.
Neris may throw 95 but he lives and dies with his splitter.
Morgan became a reliable RP when he developed a change to go with his slider.
