There are no words to express what I am feeling about the managing in this game. Having likely cost the game tonight, he is working on the game tomorrow. I guess they will option a pitcher or two to AAA to bring in some arms for tomorrow.

Just plain over-managing by Kapler. No reason to pull Neshek. Bring in a lefty and he ends up not even facing a lefty. That is called getting out maneuvered. Guy is just not a very good decision maker out there.0

Was Tony really a master tactician or the original over-manager?

It's our right as fans to second-guess but it's always hindsight. Morgan's been our best reliever (and far better than Neshek). Wasn't his night. But because Gabe did something active and blew it it's perceived as a gaffe. If he'd just left Neshek in and gotten the same result it wouldn't have been as noticeable (but everyone would have wondered why Morgan wasn't called - and we got the answer there).

A real shame. Last I checked still a great team though. Don't really care about the alternate reality where there's no mistakes and they're on pace to win 110 games, so long as they look better in September than they do in May.

My probables is the amount of pitchers he uses every game. I mean when guys seems to pitch every night it’s no wonder they eventually get hit around.

Neshek was pitching fine and also doesn’t go on back to back nights much, so you have to get pitches out of him when he’s in.

Also it seems that Gabe’s decision back fire more than most managers.

I don't know if that would really hold up to scrutiny. I'm confident if we went back and read all the list posts from '08 and '09 Charlie seemed just as stupid (and was!). Just for different reasons.

Not sure there is an empirical reason why it's bad to use more pitchers, other than, it's not fun to watch. Overuse, yeah, but I don't think that's an issue this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Nats have a bad bullpen too. C'mon! Wow, so close by Rodriguez there.
