Definitely a consideration, if they don't do it right away (tomorrow or before road trip) he is certainly the guy who goes when Nola comes back. 50% merit and 50% it's better to have the last guy be optionable. And Lazar's been better than Ruiz anyway.

Plus he'll clear.

Apparently the bot was in disbelief as I don't see anything about a Rojas Triple and Marsh HR listed in the 9th inning. I had to go look at a box score to see how so many runs were scored when it didn't look like that many in the game thread.

Why wait to DFA him? One of the other minor leaguers can go as well. I also believe there is a good chance he would go unclaimed.

There aren't any minor leaguers besides Lazar, who's been decent and should probably be the one who takes Ruiz's spot in the big picture.

We've already seen that Robert and de Gues aren't necessarily better. If they wait it's going to be because they're going move Walker back to the pen and call up Abel next rotation turn.
