Letting Moniak hit in that situation is cause to fire Girardi all by itself. He can't hit ML pitching.
This is more what I was expecting from this team for all of May. The Dodgers series and Harper's other-worldly pre-shot week was false hope.
We are in our deepest hole of the season. I knew Schwarber would hit after I argued the folly of continuing to have him lead off.
He knew it, too.
I'm all in on the "Schwarber is not as bad as people think" argument but he's been really bad for the past week. So certainly a good thing. The lead-off situation is just like everything else right now - when do you tinker constantly and when do you stick with guys and let them find their way? Joe doesn't seem consistent about his choices in that regard either though.
Phillis now 3-10 in 1 run games

We're just bumbling along. Can't fit, can't field, can't find a closer...This is a good a we'll be. It ain't getting better
