Great job by Garcia, Dominguez, and Neris to nail down the win. Also a good effort by Pivetta to settle things down after the first inning.

Another solid save from Neris. Phillies were down by 3 runs before the second out of the game, but came back to win. Phillies pitchers hold the Cardinals scoreless over the final 8 innings. Great start to this brief series.

Bader threw a strike to nail Harper at the plate. He was out by a hair. Really nice defensive play.

Now that was a lovely win. Good start overall by Pivetta, great relief pitching, and just enough offense.

Pivetta looked shaky in the 1st and also in the 5th.
Was taking something off his FB to try and improve his command with mixed results.
Garcia looked good except for too many 2-0 counts.
SD looks like he's getting his explosive FB back.
Neris seems to have his splitter in prime form.

Maybe the bullpen isn't in bad shape after all, with Morgan and Alvarez and Nicasio in long relief.
It would help to get Ramos back and for Hammer to be for real.

The bullpen has probably been the best aspect of the team this month. They've just been pressured sometimes because the other aspects can't put away games.

Also, for all the talk of not having a closer, we have a closer. 9 of Neris's 10 appearances in May have been finished games (including some that started in the 8th). No blown saves all year. In May, Neshek had two saves and Nicasio one. Seranthony has only pitched the 9th twice all year (one non-save situation and one game in which the Phillies trailed).

As a team, the Phillies only have 5 blown saves, 3rd-fewest in the NL, and those aren't all 9th inning, or losses. The most recent was Seranthony's 7th/8th against the Cubs.

Off topic a bit - I’m an out of towner, but I watch almost every game on MLBTV. Last night I realized that they haven’t had a trivia question in forever. Is that something they stopped on the broadcast?
