Torreyes sails the throw high and off the tip of the glove of Hoskins at first. Easy out and double play if the throw is caught by Hoskins. Sadly, under the rules of scoring baseball, Torreyes only gets an error because the batter goes to second.

Then Bohm misses a high pop up in foul territory. Knapp and Bohm both had an easy play. Now Bradley has to get 5 outs this inning.

Glad to see Wheeler get the win after the super start today. Well deserved and earned.

Credit to Bradley for getting the extra outs required in the ninth inning due to fielding lapses by the Phillies. Hope Bohm got the deserved error on the easy pop up he didn't catch. Added note: Bohm was charged with an error, so two errors in the ninth by the Phillies. Probably not much they can do to improve fielding this year, but I hope it is a consideration in what they do for the 2022 season. The sloppy play in the field has taken a toll on the pitching staff, often forcing significantly more pitches in an inning.

Phillies out hit Sox 10 to 4 today and the first inning home run off the bat of Miller gave the Phillies all they needed for a win today. I appreciated the extra two runs scored in the bottom of the eight inning.

Now to string some wins together and move back above .500. Of course, the next ten are on the road, so we have to see a turn around from the away performance so far this season. I'd love to see them win six or more of the ten against the Marlins, Rays, and Reds.

Might be time to see more of Miller at 3B. It won't be much better defense, but Bohm is really struggling and the defensive struggles could be linked to the offensive with increasing frustration. I am not ready to pull the trigger on sending him down to the minors yet, but he is not really helping now.

I want to see more sustained success, but Randolph might be able to help off the bench too. Whether it is Joyce's spot of a continuation of a rotation of outfielders, but sometimes you need to look at the hot hand and maybe this is legitimate development rather than small sample size.

Generally agree with both points, but in pulling Bohm for Miller it's a bit hard not to send him down so he can rediscover his swing and get regular reps in the field. It comes down to what you consider the most help for both the team and Bohm in the number of starts you'd give Miller at third - twice a week, three? I don't know that simply sitting him for a couple of games here and there is enough for things to 'click' again for Bohm, but his continued issues offensively and defensively are, as you said, definitely not helping.

Randolph's recent streak is definitely encouraging, but I agree it needs to grow some legs before they consider trying to bring him up.

if Wheeler isn't one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball, i don't know who is. Constant great starts. Although he does have a lot of the Hamels complex (of not getting any run support). What a great free agent signing.

Like I said in the other thread I'm not sure you don't pick up his option at this point. $9 million (since he gets $2.5 no matter what) isn't much at all if he's an everyday player or even if he winds up making 100-110 starts between LF, CF and DH...

But, we've also seen this movie before, so no rush either. Would be nice if Haseley or Moniak make it hard by the off-season.
