He wasn’t pinch hit for it was a double switch. Realmuto pinch hit for Odubel and then went to first in the previous half inning and Roman went to CF for Odubel taking Rhys spot in the batting order.

ATown: Herrera would have been out at the plate.. Quinn may not be a regular in a line up but he has an elite skill which if used creatively (which Joe does not do) could win 3-4 games a year. A Showalter or a Madon would make it a point to get Quinn in the lineup in the late innings of tight games so that Quinn’s speed could extra pressure on a defense leading to situations such as today.

Quinn can be used properly when he's the fourth man on a bench. Most of this week he wasn't even a bench player, and now that Harper's back he's still only the 3rd man. That will change soon. Of course then it's just a matter of time until the injury.

From what's been said about JT it sounds like Long tried to change his swing and it's not going well. So you either have to believe the hitting coach is right and he'll eventually get comfortable with it or he has to switch back. The alternative besides a slump (that time is already catching up with him or he has an unacknowledged injury) is not one we'd like to contemplate, but was certainly a known risk.

An improbable result in a close pitchers game. But a win is always good.

The Phillies complete the home stand 2-4, losing both series. Back on the road to Atlanta (4 games) and New York (Mets) (3 games). Must win 4 to move make a little progress.

I am encouraged by the starting pitching. Eflin had a great outing tonight and deserved a win.

Just watched Quinn score. He had so much momentum when he popped up after sliding he couldn't stop until he was about 20 feet past home plate.

Yea, not many players score on a routine grounder that the 2nd baseman boots and immediate picks up.

Lost in all this was a very good defensive play by Bohm. The throw to third in the 10th could easily have gotten by him and not been his fault (it hit the runner). He actually had quick and good hands on an unlikely "save".
