Baseball is such a strange game. If Hoskins makes the play on the line drive, it is a DP and the inning ends with the Phillies up 4-2. Of course, that happens, but the stuff that followed is just bad baseball.

Alvarado even throw one of the balls on the bases loaded walk well over JT's head, but the Mets didn't advance.

The bullpen of 2020 has not been fixed. This is the type win that could really be a turning point for the Mets.

If this indeed does go the same way as past years it will be a very interesting series of decisions for Mr. Dombrowski, who is clearly hoping to follow the Gillick path (with Fuld as Amaro).

Hopefully, this isn't what gets them hot and turns out to be the inflection point of their season and enables them to leave us and the rest of the division in the dust.
