Would certainly like to see more offense early in these games, but the reality of no JT, a banged-up Harper, an absent Didi (diminished though he already was) and Bohm is what it is. At least there's Cutch and Odubel.

Should be an interesting pitching match-up tomorrow.

So we're 14-13 in Nola/Wheeler/Eflin starts, which also means we're 8-8 with the other guys. Does that mean our 4/5 starters aren't as big a problem as we think, or the good pitchers (or at least, their run/bullpen support) are a bigger problem?

If the Phillies get good pitching, they don't hit. If their hitters are on, the pitching forces them to have to win a slugfest. They can't seem to be able to put it together.

Lack of run support for their best pitchers has been an issue with the Phillies for the better part of a decade. Hamels' lack of run support seems to have transferred to Nola, et al..

Of course another part of that stat is that, SSS, the Phillies are 2-1 in Velasquez's starts, during which he has a 2.84 ERA - quite a bit better than Nola or Eflin. They might have lost all three of those with Moore, or the worst-case Vince.
