Abel was impressive, but you can see where he needs more AAA time.
His best off speed pitch was his curve, his slider was sharp early, but couldn't command it the last couple innings.
Threw a couple change-ups, but it was obvious that it was a work in progress, he'll need it against LH hitters.
His FB had good movement, and he located it well early, less so as the game went on.
Started 98-99, then 96-97 after a couple innings but was able to maintain close to that at 80 pitches.
You could see he was tiring in the 6th inning but gutted through.
Abel should stay at Lehigh until September, he needs to continue to work on his mechanics.
Probably needs another year or two to add strength, he's got a lean frame, and that will help him maintain velo up to 100 pitches.
