It’s a strange game where almost every hitter on your team, even the pH’s have a “good day”. Segura was only 1-4 with an walk and an RBI, so maybe his was “meh” but every other player had a good hitting day compared to their season (or at least close to good).

Odd.

I can't help thinking Alvarado would benefit from a sports psychologist to focus on enhancing his performance. He has electric stuff and potentially the best reliever in the Phillies bullpen.

Curt Schilling saw one who worked on focus. He said he learned to break the game down into each battle and pitch .

I'm not so sure Alvarado's issues are really mental. Not sure it's possible to have that stuff and also have consistent control/command. Plus as Girardi discussed yesterday, pitchers aren't even being asked to focus on command. As a safety issue that's scary. As a performance issue, as long as he gets the Ks and outs, it's not necessarily a problem.
