You don't need a lefty in the rotation if your RH pitchers have a good changeup that fades, and a good two seam fastball. They can work the outside edge of the plate then come inside with a good FB above the belt.
I think we have to give the new PC some credit, he's got Eflin and Pivetta throwing 2 seamers with more movement, and has them working on their change ups, while Velasquez is learning to dial back from maximum effort, take 1-2 MPH off his FB in exchange for better command and movement. Subtle little changes, but effective so far.
As far as the pen, LH prospects are working their way up, Davis, Leibrandt in AAA (think Irvin is the only viable LH starter right now, Romero is struggling in Reading). Suarez might move to the pen, Gilbert, A Brown, Jakob Hernandez.
