Interesting watching DeGrom, Alvarado and Castro all throw 100+, yet DeGrom's fastball was harder to make contact. Coonrod "only" hit 98. Brogdon a mere 96.
Alvarado would be dangerous with command, he flashes it, that 3rd strike painted the low inside corner at 100, but he threw a bunch of balls high and outside in more hittable spots, but that cutter at 92-96 is filthy, if he could only spot it. Also bad luck, 2nd hit was off the hands, 3rd hit should have been caught.
Thought Moore looked like a 4/5, that is adequate stuff, 91-94 but not a lot of movement, average cutter, curve with big movement - but his command was bad. He's the kind of pitcher who'll put good games when he's hitting his spots, but will get lite up on his off days - a LH VV. Hopefully, he'll be sharper next time around.
