Ruiz, it is perhaps easy to forget, got suspended for taking Ritalin! I think given all that Herrera has gone through the past two years (i.e. mandatory psych evaluation & counseling) he would have been diagnosed with ADHD by now if he really had it and merited an exemption.
You just have to take Herrera for what he is, just like any other player with flaws. No, you can't put up with the guy who got so bad that he might have been out of baseball even w/o the domestic violence incident, but he seems to be back to the normal streaky guy with big highs and frustrating lows who still ends up as a plus player over 162 games. That player wasn't worth the contract the Phillies gave him when they thought they might have 2015-2016 Herrera for years to come, but now that he's a $1.5 million player who the Phillies aren't bound to as he ages, he's fine. We should probably hope that Vierling earns his side of the platoon more than we should that Herrera becomes better or different at 30 years old. (And if he gets worse, there's Moniak).
I'm glad you enjoyed the Mets announcers SF! Cohen and Darling are just really good. Keith is the goof (i.e. the Kruk) of the trio but he's always been a sharp analyst too.
