Funny how the story just yesterday was that the anger at the Mets and the emotion of the win would be an energy surge.
I'm not usually one to second-guess the manager but the bullpen was actually good, and so was Neris for the most part...until he went back out there. Of course we'd also call Gabe stupid if he'd put in Ramos sooner (or Nicasio, or De Los Santos because then everyone would be like, "why put him in that position in his first game?")
I do not think energy or character have anything to do with it. They had tons of character two weeks ago...and just last night. These guys are gonna hit again.
Firing the hitting coach has never worked either that I can recall. He was also a genius two weeks ago! It is pretty interesting, as andyb has pointed out, how much the line-up might need its two free swingers though.
