Great win! On the double caught stealing, the radio guys immediately suggested Hoskins lost track of the number of outs.

Watched the video of the double CS a few minutes ago. It reminds me of the run down from earlier in the season that allowed Santana to score.
In that game it was Hoskins on first and Santana on third. Hoskins make a run for second but when the throw beat him he dragged it out as long as he could and diverted the defenders attention away from Santana long enough for him to steal home, and in the end they both moved up a base.
Could it be that they were trying something similar here, Hoskins was moving extremely slowly on the base paths

I would hope not with only 1 out and your 5th place hole hitter up (even if he is hitting about .100) I did not see the game, but I wonder if Hoskins got picked off or took off too soon setting the whole mess into place. Someone might want to tell him his bat is more important than his legs. I saw a game recently where he dove into 2nd base on a steal and thought NO don't get injured running the bases when it isn't necessary.

That was one of the worst quality starts I've ever seen.
Lively spent the first three innings behind in the count with almost every hitter.
I think he was overthrowing, hitting 92-93 but no idea where his FB was going and his curve was an adventure.
Then he relaxed, took a little something off the FB down to 91, started spotting it, pitched to contact and got people out.

It would be a bit concerning, except we're talking about our 5th starter who's holding the fort until Eickhoff returns and/or Eflin gets promoted.
I think that's called "depth."

Difference here over the earlier rundown, steal of home was the second baseman who had the ball immediately ignored Hoskins and ran across the infield to freeze Herrera who was now well off third. Herrera headed home and was easily out. Hoskins tried to go to third but was also easily out.

I don't like the 3 walks, but Lively managed to go 6 and only gave up 5 hits and one run. Getting 4 Ks in 6 IP is about all I expect from Lively. It was a good game for him. There have been a lot worse quality starts. If he were more economical with his pitches, he might have pitched 7 innings, but he kept the hitters off balance sufficiently to get the job done.

That's what I saw too. Hoskins was also not running hard from 2nd to 3rd which is why I think the announcers said he lost track of the outs.
