Hoskins and Realmuto played, but effectively sat this one out. We still scored 8 runs. This lineup is indeed scary.

If I were a fan of a different NL team the handshake routines would irritate the heck out of me, but as a Phils' fan I love 'em. It's great to se the team enjoying success.

The old unwritten rules of baseball are changing and if they want to attract younger fans, they should encourage the fun stuff. Sure, not fun when you are the team being beat, but come back tomorrow and try to be the winning side.

In spite of Alvarez getting the bullpen off on a bad foot (two runs, two hits, one out), the bullpen only gave up 2 hits and no walks in the last 3.2 innings. Eflin with the solid start, 5.0 IP, 3 hits, NO runs, one walk, 9 Ks. It would be nice to go at least six innings or longer, but I think that will come later in the season.

Harper was unmercifully booed everytime he came up to bat. Sometimes even if he was just on deck. Those boos grew smaller after his second hit though as a lot of Nats fans left at that point so unfortunately they didn't get to see his home run.

I was really happy for Odúbel who I know can be inconsistent but over the last few years he was one of the few bright spots in our lineup. He spotted me in left centre wearing his jersey among a dwindling number of Nats fans and threw me a ball ahead of the ninth inning which was nearly as big a highlight for me as the monstrous Harper Home run.
Honestly this team might never lose again! I can't wait for tomorrow!

That's awesome El P. I'm still a Herrera fan. Though Harper and Franco are both converting me fast!

The train in DC stops at 11:30 pm so that's the other reason fans were leaving early (in a rain-delayed game).

In spite of the fact that I am as excited about Harper mashing it for the Phillies, the first four videos on the Phillies' MLB website were about Harper. A little over done, IMHO.

Eflin was impressive, he's developed a solid 2 seamer with good movement to compliment his straight as an arrow 4 seamer (which should be spotted, especially at the armpit and inside on RHs). He also flashed a potential plus slider, curve and changeup. The 2 seamer and changeup should help a lot against LHs.

Problem take another year to put this package together, but he's a potential #2, depending on how his command and consistency throwing all his pitches develop - but he has the complete package to be a dominant RH SP.
