Tough to lose after clawing to a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the 8th. A win would have really boosted the Phillies good start to this season. Of course, they don't have to collapse after this defeat. They need to win this second game and stop any negative momentum.
Bullpen gave them 3 scoreless, hitless innings before Neris, so that is a positive. Phillies pitching held the Mets to only 3 hits over the first seven innings. Neris was touched for 3 hits in his third of an inning to get the blown save and loss.
I hope we get a solid Nola and a solid Phillies offense in game two.
