Yeah, the Phillies striking out in order after getting 2nd and 3rd and nobody out seems typical of this team. But, the pitching and defense won it.

Two straight scoreless innings for Romano in tight ballgames. Perhaps a baby step forward toward him turning things around?

Needed a win today. Solid pitching and five double plays. Bullpen looked very good. I really am happy for Romano. They need him to be effective. I loved Alvarado not having a ball count to any hitter over one. Last time he got it done but threw too many pitches and seemed to run a full count to everyone he faced.

I was unhappy seeing them getting runners on second and third to start the 8th, and the having Kepler, Realmuto, and Bohm strike out. They just have to add at least a run there. Fortunately, they didn’t need it today, but many times they will.

Going for the series win Sunday afternoon.

Sanchez had a weird game, started 90-91, finished 96-97. Struggled a bit with command.
If this is one of his bad outings . . .

2nd and 3rd, no out, next two hitters strike out on balls out of the zone. So much for the Leopard changing his spots.
