He's been worse than Rojas and has almost as many plate appearances. Of course Nick's right there with them playing full-time.

Yea, I think one thing keeping Rojas in the majors is that no one seems to want his job. Pache isn’t even getting the chance to not hit.

Merrifield is safe for now, at least until the end of May I would think. I would give Rojas about 10-20 more games and then you would have to seriously think about sending him to AAA to figure it out there. I can’t imagine what Pache has done to offend Thomson, but his butt is glued to the bench.

Sanchez struggled with command, but his velo is up from last year and his secondary pitches look find, just couldn't locate them. Worked out of jams on a night when he didn't "have it."

Since when did Falter ever hit 94 as a Phillie?

Oh I am sure Whit is safe until July 31 just like Harrison before him. He just won't play as much. They just have to either replace Pache or send down Rojas and fill that spot with someone else

And at the same time, they can probably continue to play over .500 baseball with this lineup and the bench guys never playing, just like they did last year (Harrison and then Castro). But they need Nick to hit because they have no alternative. And Rojas (or Pache!) with no bat in CF still seems preferable to light-hitting and defensively weak LFs whether that is Merrifield or the limited AAA options.

I am sure they they told Pache what to expect, or didn't have to.

Haha it was definitely "good trade who'd we get?" at the time (if you mean the Falter trade). Had Falter actually pitched like this for a long time last year Sanchez might be in the bullpen now. (but they also could have not acquired Lorenzen).
