That 1981 "split season" deal was kinda like a wild card, they had the third best record in the NL East overall and got to play the 2nd best team, the Expos, in a playoff series, of course the team with the best record overall in the division didn't even get in!

The Phillies clinched at the same ballpark where they secured their last postseason trip on Sept. 14, 2011. That game was a 1-0 victory over the Astros highlighted by a complete game shutout by Hall of Famer Roy Halladay.

And we play the Cardinals in the first round again....let's hope it goes better this time

I'm starting to get the sense that the Phillies will be playing with hangovers tonight.

Probably time to play Hall and Stubbs and Guthrie and Devenski among others. Sill want 70-80 pitches from Ranger but that is it.

Yeah at least one of these two games we should get the bench guys some reps and innings to pitchers to try to get them right.

My guess is a lot of back-ups get starts today and tomorrow starters only go 3-4 innings (with some back-ups still starting too).

Harper and Castellanos probably need to play. Hoskins and Segura can certainly get a day. Schwarber has to play tomorrow if he hits two home runs tonight
