GDT 10/11/22 Philadelphia Phillies (Suárez, R) @ Atlanta Braves (Fried)

I have to confess that I watched the entire game on mute. I didn’t want to hear someone who had played for the Braves for 21 years sit there and let his (understandable) bias bleed into the broadcast. So I’m curious. How was the quality of the announcing? I’ll continue to mute the broadcast since the Phillies are 3-0 in post season since I’ve gone into deaf-con mode (also not a fan of ARod), and I don’t want to be responsible for a loss. Just wondering how the broadcast was.

His performance may have seemed better than it was because he wasn't Arod, but I liked Smoltz on the broadcast today, didn't feel like he was openly rooting for the Braves, and as a point of reference, I would sign a petition to keep Arod out of the booth until the end of time. I will also sign a petition ensuring that you keep the rest of the playoffs on mute.

The Mariners had a 7-3 lead today but ended up losing. Crazy that a playoff team could be up by that much and still lose, eh? I’m glad I feel confident that that sort of thing could never happen to the Phillies.

Between Twitter and this list I rarely DVR games anymore. I was actually trying to avoid finding out what happened in the 8th and 9th but forgot to mute my texts.

The Phillies wo on my birthday. Finally the Phillies play baseball in October. I posted a Freudian slip on Facebook saying “I ve been wasting years for the Phillies to play baseball on my birthday.” I meant to say “waiting.” It is true that every year on my birthday I have to watch teams other than the Phillies play.

Exciting to grab home field and shake up Fried in case we see him again in Game 5.
