And yet three blown saves against 4 saves over that stretch (as both middle reliever and closer), and also a 5-3 W-L. Relief pitching takes a lot of luck, even when you pitch well (his WHIP was .0868 in relief).

Suarez's WHIP as a starter (1.091) not that much better than Nola's (1.129), and his FIP probably isn't either (can't find the relief/starter split on that). Hopefully that means Aaron's had bad luck (rather than Suarez having good luck).

The only thing that has really surprised me about this season is that in the last series against the Marlins they actually secured a winning season. A winning season seems like too much reward for this lot and the people that made it happen.
