How can we fans be so ignorant?

Of course they are but clearly there's enough of both smart money and dumb money going the Eagles way (probably more dumb money because they're still the Eagles and defending champions).. My contention is the line is correct, maybe even favors the Bears more than it should (even if it's really only Eagles by four or five, plus home field). And all the people I've seen picking the Eagles (11 of 13 ESPN people, several beat writers saying Eagles by 10) are more than aware of the team's issues. They also know the Bears aren't a dominant team either.

Fans are blinded by emotion, whether they are underrating or overrating. Never bet on your favorite team is always good advice.

I think a lot of people don't know how sports books work. The book sets the odds and it gets moved based off of how the money goes (just as insurance). It's not the other way around.

At least the rest of the schedule is comparatively weak and we'll be healthy by the playoffs.

The Sixers in their last game stink. This team is disappointing.

Clearly not looking like Super Bowl material but the team that played Detroit and Green Bay and LA is still in there somewhere. In any case all of their problems - fatigue, ego, the OC - are also a product of last year's success. It will, as always, be interesting to see what happens if the season falls short. Hey, Frank Reich is unemployed again as of today.

Good Flyers game though. Just saw a man on the street interview on the news after where someone said the Eagles need to fire both coordinators.

The offensive strategy and play construction need a make-over. When the offense has been aggressively in attack mode this season it has been fine. When they are defensive and focused on avoiding a turn-over, they have been lackluster and very predictable. The tush push is no longer working. Running Barkley up the middle isn't working. Throwing the ball to a static target at the line of scrimmage isn't working. More motion. Getting away from the predictable runs and run blocking. Barkley isn't fully healthy. He likely is only our third-best RB in his present condition. Rest him. Give the other RBs a chance. The D will benefit if the O can stay on the field a reasonable amount of time. Extra off-days coming up, Use it to design some new plays and unleash the offense to attack. Hurts didn't look sharp but it seems the system has worn down morale.

It hardly seems necessart for opposing D coordinators to steal our signals, but I don't see any other team's OC or play caller calling plays without even shielding his lips. It's just lazy carelessness. When the cameras panned the Eagles bench, I also didn't see Hurts and OC studying tape and discussing ways to beat the D. A really ugly offensive effort today, with much sleep walking.

This is coaching. They don’t need to blow up the roster.

In 2023 Siriani insisted the organization promote inexperienced coaches to coordinator positions and the team was terrible. My understanding is that they almost fired Siriani after that season and made the decision (not Nicks decision) to hire experienced coordinators in Moore and Fangio. The story I read was if Nick didn’t agree to hire experienced coordinators they were going to fire him. They didn’t over haul the roster, they just brought in two competent coaches and won the Super Bowl.

Moore leaves and Super Bowl champ Nick is able to hire the replacement, and the 2024 mandate went away probably because of the Super Bowl. But we just learned this lesson in 2023 why repeat it! They hired another never called plays before offensive coordinator. There are a lot of credible former players call his offense too basic and predictable. KP needs to go immediately, he cannot call plays effectively at the NFL level which is a skill set. If Siriani won’t fire him Siriani needs to go.

The defense has been up to the standard this year. The offense has the talent, they just don’t have the right playbook and/or coaching. Siriani also does a terrible job leading the team through adversity, and that’s where your good head coaches earn their paychecks. Lots of coaches can look good when everything is going well, i think Siriani has gotten credit for Kellen Moore, Shane Steichen, Jonathan Gannon and Vic Fangio’s successes.

While I'm exasperated with the offense, I see way too many defensive players in our backfield, blowing up plays before they can get any traction.
Either the o-line and TE are not executing, or Jalen's audibles are not working well enough. It's not just the OC.

The OL is worn down, injured, and the replacement players are entry-level at best, especially Steen.

It's easier to anticipate and be in the backfield if the play calling is too predictable. The Bears kept our D guessing. We didn't do much at all to confuse their D. The O-line isn't healthy. We have injured guys playing who really shouldn't be on the field.

Dickerson has been hurt for a while, Jurgens just came back and who knows how healthy he is, and Lane is out.

All that being said, Mialata should be healthy and Lane wasn't that great when he was (I know he's long in the tooth).

I tend to think this is a coaching issue and Barkley has looked horrible no matter who is blocking for him.

I likely would have fired multiple coaches weeks ago, but that's hard to do when they were winning. I've never been a Sirianni fan, but his comments are kind of infuriating. Someone needs to take responsibility and it's usually Jalen that has to do that. Jalen can probably get almost anyone fired and it's close to the point where he should.

Barkley is still battling a groin injury. He should not be playing. They need him healthy for playoffs and he certainly isn't helping the team by playing. Give Tank a couple games. He's done well when he played. And let;s forget the tush push. The league figured out last year's offense and planned to stop it. The Eagles are trying to win with the same old limited play selection and sequencing. The Eagles talked about needing to get the O going, then last week the players got it going and the coaches shut it down, deciding to coast for over a half with a 21-point lead. All I read says Sirianni and his coaching staff are very hard-working, but what they've put on the field this season seems like a totally lazy-men's offense, with zero thought given to how they will respond to the league's response to last year's success. How stupid is it to keep trotting out the same-old, same-old with a lesser, less healthy cast than last year? They are a very stubborn bunch of head coach and O coordinator. It's not surprising the players are unhappy playing in this system. Yes, I am frustrated.

Now that the Rams lost, the Bears are the #1 seed in the NFC, (sarcasm font) so it's made that black Friday loss more acceptable. (/sarcasm font)
