The Eagles trade Joe Flacco tp the Jets for a conditional 2022 6th round pick which could become a 5h based on playing time.

Krikeys…that’s a great deal for the eagles. Might even give the Jets a slightly better shot at beating the Dolphins for us too

Something tells me this isn’t the last time Flacco signs as our backup. Hope he has a fun season and maybe gets a win or two with the Jets.

Hell of a deal straight up.. Recovers the pick traded for Minshew and possibly moves us up a round. Personally I prefer Minshew over Fiacco at this point going forward.

Hidden benefit is that it also might open us up to receiving a 5th for Mills signing with the Pats. I know there was some consternation about losing that pick by signing Fiacco this offseason. Right now we're 2 FA down (Mills and Rudy Ford) and one up (Harris). Ford's contract is borderline, but if Howie sees a way to get a 6th for Harris, knowing that will probably lock in a fifth for Mills, it would be tempting.

Flacco has to play 50% of the snaps for 4 games and it becomes a 5th rounder. Here's hoping Wilson is out for five weeks.

Has there been a Super Bowl winner that has fallen so far, so fast as the Eagles have?

The Giants?

(But I suppose most of those examples usually involve an old quarterback.

Eagles re-sign Lovato, as a vested veteran, he didn't need to pass through waivers, so it was just a clever way to get the Flacco trade done and bring in another QB (Sinnett).

Jeffrey Lurie has now hired 5 head coaches, and the one thing that is consistent is he has never hired anyone who has ever been a head coach in the NFL before. In fact, only Chip Kelly had any experience as a HC in college, the other 4 had ever even done that.

Clearly Reid was a huge success, and Pederson was a success based just on winning a SB. The other 2 were failures, Rhodes just seemed over his head and Chip Kelly almost caused a player revolt and took over as GM and decimated the roster. Sirianni is obviously hampered by a poor talent pool, but his choices of coaches was way too slanted in people that had no experience and he seems has been not just losing, but also getting out-schemed and making indecisive mistakes (timeouts because he couldn’t make up his mind what to do, etc).

I certainly am not giving up on Sirianni yet, but Gannon has proven that he is not yet ready to design a defense. Sirianni needs to do something, if he doesn’t, then he is an offensive coordinator, not a Head Coach. And if that is the case, I hope Lurie has learned a lesson also.

Joe not vaxxed maybe?

Flacco is attending team meetings virtually, but he will not be at practice until Friday for “personal reasons.” The Jets said they were aware of this when they agreed to trade for him.

It is very possible today’s Eagles / Detroit game may be one of the worst games in 20 years. Even if it is exciting, these are two REALLY bad teams, both of which seem to realize they are better off losing.

I hope this is the last season Duce isn’t a Head Coach. He is clearly “worthy” of the chance. Wish he was our HC honestly.

I have noticed an oddity about Hurts when he escapes to the right. He always tucks the ball for 5-6 steps and then looks to throw, so there is a “dead” period where he can’t throw the ball.

At least twice today I saw open guys he could have thrown to in this window, but he wasn’t looking to throw. It is almost like he doesn’t exactly scramble, he just relocates to throw or he runs, but it seems like he makes that decision too early. If he can’t find the running land he wants, then he steps back and tries to throw again.

There seem to be some technique things that need to be cleaned up with Hurts, especially when he is on the move. He is horribly inaccurate on the move, I hope (but doubt) that this coaching staff can fix things like this.

Josh Sweat with a Reggie-like sack where he just ran over 2 blockers and grabbed and smothered Goff. I thought it was Barnett who was suppose to be Reggie-like? Every once in awhile Sweat really looks like a force.

I am baffled how you can be winning 17-0 at the 2 minute warning before halftime. Defense dominating, and you still can’t figure out to blitz. Eagles blitz twice, both work (forced short pass and sack) and Gannon still won’t add pressure.

Best halftime adjustment: Fire Gannon.

Campbell shows why this will be his only season as lions HC. 13 seconds left on Eagles 23, 4th and one. Instead of kicking FG he goes for it (doubtful anything to gain, very unlikely to score TD in 2 plays from 23). Eagles get another sack (despite not blitzing).

I guess ours isn’t the only coaching staff with no idea what they are doing. Might explain how these teams are 2-12.

If Goeddert keeps playing like this they may be forced to Franchise him. I assume they have approached him about an extension, but there has never been any whispers about it.

Not sure how expensive a TE Franchise is, but they may need the extra time to convince him to consider staying. Obviously he may start to be more excited as the #1 TE and with next years picks hopefully the future looks better than the present.

JJAW again out with an injury. I assume he slipped off the bench. He has to be the only WR in the league to play every game and have 0 targets.

Kind of harsh to say he should be fired based on this play. Campbell has been better than I expected, but the team is really bad.
