Eagles 2019 Offseason

At the Athletic, for fun, Wulf predicted they would move up to 15 for FSU's Burns, giving up a second-rounder. Then he more seriously predicted they'd probably trade down and take WR Brown from Ole Miss.

Kapadia has them trading down to 41, plus a third-rounder, and taking OT Tytus Howard.

Took OT Andre Dillard. Like it. Jeremiah has him as 12th overall

They must have really liked him and believed HOU would take him at 23. Gave up a 4th and 6th to move up 3 slots, overpaid by the “chart” but got the guy they wanted I assume.

Knowing Howie he will surely trade down sometime in the 2ns to recoup those picks. V

OL was the biggest need now and going forward, with replacements for Peters and Kelce.

The wife is a grad of WSU. As a result, whenever they are on the tube, that game pretty much trumps any other for viewing. So I've seen a lot of Dillard's games. He is a player and a solid LT; exceptionally good at pass blocking but will need some work on the run side. Its what you'd expect out of a lineman who played in Mike Leach's offense.
There's no reason to move him to RT and then put Johnson over to LT. Dillard is in a good place where he can have JP tutor him for a season. I was hoping that the Birds would be able to get Dillard but I didn't see a way for that to happen unless they moved up the line to get him. Saw him as a 12-15 pick. I think that the football gods smiled on the Eagles last night.

Eagles first 2nd round pick is up in a few picks, and there is a lot of good talent on the board... S, RB or WR.

I would assume there is a trade down with one of these picks to get additional picks.

Could we screw over the Texans again and pick right in front of them and take who they wanted. They have the 2 picks after the Eagles

When your 2nd round pick could be 5th on your depth chart you have made a mistake.

Not sure he is any better than Clements or Adams. Really wish we had gone LB, we only have 1 solid LB and a herd of journeyman.

I assume Smallwood might as well just be cut now.

I think the Eagles might trade Agholor for some extra picks, the Seahawks have extra 3rd And 4th rounders. If you could get a 3rd and a 4th for Agholor, I'd do that. I still like Gardner-Johnson for the next pick coming up.

There aren't any linebackers worth taking at that spot, maybe in the 4th round,

I think everyone would, but with Agholor’s $9M cap hit and only 1 year of control you would be lucky to get a 6th for him. If we pick a WR with the next pick maybe Nelson gets moved, but no way we get a 3rd and 4th, or either.

I wonder if they don’t try and trade Clememts.

They did go receiver, and it is J J Arcega-Whiteside from Stanford. Good player good value pick.

Well, so unless the Eagles make a trade, they are done for the night. I like the Sanders pick, Howard is only signed for this year. Sanders has little wear on his tires, and could be a three down back going forward. Can catch the ball out of the backfield. I think this spells the end of the road for Smallwood or Adams, or both.

As for the next pick, not sure I love the receiver pick, but Arcega-Whiteside is a good player, whose comp is actually Alshon. Is he going to play the slot? Only makes sense if they are moving Agholor.

So far, this is a Wentz draft.

I suspect the Eagles try and take a QB for development in their last 2 picks if they stand pat.

Honestly, I think they might still trade a player or two to get picks. Their need at LB is obvious to me, but maybe they know something I don’t, and of course LB is a position being deminished with the increase in passing.

I also wonder if they don’t cash in some 2020 picks and try to add some picks since they suspect they will get compensatory picks.

As for LB, I wonder if the Eagles are high on Worrilow coming back from injury. Not a great draft for LBs...

Roseman says they are not trading Agholor, and that he factors strongly in their plans. There hasn't been a run on safeties yet in the 3rd round, so their may be a good one still left when they pick in the 4th.

They clearly need to add a young Safety/CB/Hybrid, but same with LB. I still think they might sneak in a QB.

With no late picks I am guessing they are going to allocate extra money for undrafted FA’s.

We do have a bit of a glut at RB, I wonder what Sproles will do.

Not picking an edge may be a sign they think Chris Long has another season in the tank
