I am guessing you are light on DL, with only 9 making it. I am guessing 10 for sure, with Sweat making the team, if Long comes back it gets interesting. Sweat might be able to be held onto on the PS again this year, but we might lose him that way also.

If Sproles comes back I am guessing it is Smallwood that gets cut.

Have my doubts that Bates makes the team on the OL, they may just go with 9, especially if they have 1-2 on the PS.
I am guessing that both Gibson and Hollins make it, maybe at the expense of Smallwood also or maybe just 10 DBs (LeBlanc is probably last or Sullivan).

I guess Rodgers makes the team, but honestly I dont see him as very useful. Not sure he does much on special teams and he was hurt most of last year and didnt do much when he wasnt. I wouldnt be surprised if we dont try and find a young TE off someones roster to add.

I don't think Sweat was on the practice squad last year, he was on the 53, inactive for some games, and then was hurt and on the IR.

Eagles bring back Stefen Wisniewski on a one year deal, basically saving up to $2 million from his previous deal. Howie has really done an amazing job with the cap ahead of signing Wentz to a monster deal. Now the only area of concern for me is the pass rush, hopefully Long comes back.

Nick Foles has not been with his Jacksonville Jaguars teammates for this week’s OTA practices. The team announced on Tuesday that his absence was for personal reasons and coach Doug Marrone said the team’s “thoughts and prayers” were with Foles and his family.

Let’s make it clear from the outset: This round of OTAs is voluntary, so Foles was under no obligation to take part. But Marrone’s words gave a hint that it was something significant and possibly tragic, and unfortunately we now have confirmation that it is both.

NIce to get that done. I know everyone gets all up in arms because he has gotten hurt 2 years in a row, but people forget he was on his way to an MVP in his 2nd year. The list of QBs to do that is very short (Dan Marino?). When on the field and not playing hurt (as I think he did last year) this guy is special - special. Not just very good, but in the conversation as the best in the game.

Foles was wonderful and will never have to buy a beer in Philly, but Wentz is correctly the guy to hang your hat on. He is going to be the best QB in team history.

He's only special if he's mobile in addition to being a pocket QB. He's above average from the pocket, but not top 5/10 in the league. Adding in his ability to extend plays and scramble for tough yards elevates him to the top 1-3. Dude has got to stay healthy, and trust himself to avoid damaging contact (and train for that).

Its actually 4 years in a row he has gotten injured, senior year of college, rookie year (ribs), SB year (knee) and last year (back).

You're right though, Wentz is the one to invest in and worth the risk due to his talent, character and dedication to his craft. We'll see what other details come out about the contract, but the key for Roseman now is to keep building that next wave of young talent to help Wentz when guys like Peters, Kelce, Jenkins, Graham et al. leave or fade.
