John Hume is one of the greatest Irishmen to ever live. He did as much if not more than anyone else to bring peace to Northern Ireland. Also a huge sports fan who did a lot for his local professional football side Derry City.

John Hume is probably not nearly as well known in the US as he should be, but clearly a great man who did much to help his country.

I am proud to have Ireland on my list of countries visited, but very sorry that it was limited to a short visit to Dublin.

Chadwick Boseman, actor who among many other roles played Jackie Robinson in 42 dies from cancer aged just 43 on Jackie Robinson day. He had been diagnosed 4 years ago, and put in a number of very physical roles in action movies in that time.

Saw photos a few months ago where he was very thin. I thought maybe it was for a movie. I liked many of his roles, but Marshall and Get on Up stand out. Sad.
