Odubel is not a deserving All-Star. He is 26th in the NL in offensive bWAR, 57th in total WAR among position players. All five of the final vote candidates are ahead of him.

If we had a second All Star I'd probably go with Seranthony or Cesar. We just don't have position players that stand out and since they are not perennial all stars they are not going to win the close decisions.

AL wins 8-6 in 10 innings. Almost all runs come on home runs, 5 for each team. I thought the home run derby was last night. The ASG is clearly an exhibition/showcase game. For fans who love the long ball, it was made to order.

Nola did himself right in his one inning of work as noted by HSE. Hoskins also showed well in the HR derby last night.

Maybe next season, the Phillies get a couple players on the team, but that might take a few seasons.

Finished 8-5, which seems disappointing after their start, losing the last 2 games to the Fish. I thought 7 would be fine, so overall a good result.

Another year, another NL defeat. AL now leads the all-time series 44-43 and is a staggering 24-6-1 in the last thirty-one years.
