Some people say the newer "Uncle Charlie's" cheesesteak they make is good! Named for the pride of West Virginia.

I had one, it is really good. Manuel is from Lake Buena Vista in Western Virginia (Shenandoah Valley), not West Virginia.

He was born in WV though. I don't think I remembered all that backstory, and there were often references to his "West Virginia" accent which I guess works either way.

But they have taken down the sign that says it was the home of Charlie Manuel. But it still has the sign that says “Welcome to Buena Vista: 6002 happy citizens and 3 old grouches"

Webb checked his phone afterward and opened a group text he maintains with other players around the league. Their consensus: We should never play an extra-inning game again. We should always end games just like that.

Maybe we should end games altogether and have 162 9 inning home run derbies every year.

Don't like that idea. It is fine when the games are just an exhibition like the all star game, but real games, I hate the idea. But I'm an old timer that they really don't care about.

I don't think it's a super-serious notion yet. But honestly at this point, now that they have the ghost runner, if they wanted to settle it this way in the 12th it wouldn't bother me. The reality is four or five regular season games also don't matter that much now that 12 teams are in the playoffs, and it will matter even less after inevitable expansion of both the league and the post-season.

I reckon of 80% us here are old-timers, whether we're between 45-60 or 60-up.
