Was really looking forward to both the Braves and Dodgers series, preview of the playoffs, but the Phils' injury-damaged lineup isn't up to the Braves and the Dodgers are not the same with out Mookie. Fun game yesterday anyway, though. 9 - 1 sounds like a comfy lead, should be a laugher, but then Dominguez and Soto show up. Rarely a dull moment in a Phils game. Remembering the days when these guys just blew batters away.
Dahl is gone, in spite of how great a hitter he was according to a couple announcers. Looked like he might be the answer for a week or so. More PT for Merrifield and Pache! Clemens back to the farm, where he still needs to be.
Likely too outside the box to happen, but fun to consider: the Phils acquire Mason Miller and Tanner Scott and the Phils have the best pen in the history of MLB. Likely able to close games after 5. Avoids the very real risks that come with the several LF's on the table. Enables the Phils to continue their blind commitment to Merrifield and Pache.
Like watching a clock waiting for the trade deadline. The Phils need to improve. Here's hoping they do NOT acquire a player like Lorenzen and Merrifield - a player THEY think is a sleeper that proves to be really cooked.
