The Phils are at a lofty .676, fans, best in MLB. Two days in a row. Finally where they've been trying to get. How long can they stay there?
Kruk's talk about the team's will to win is more than hype.
Six weeks without Turner will be just fine. Let him take all the time he needs. Even more time. We got patience. Losing an All Star 5-tool player and the Phils aren't the same. Too bad this happened as the team was getting hot.
Merrifield seems to have found his game. Recent HR reminds you he has power. And he can run. Had a hell of a time getting started and absolutely killed any excitement that he was on the team, but has upside. The decision to shuffle SS and 2B to try different combinations seems to say the Phils don't know who belongs where.
No doubt Turnbull is proud of his brilliant performance that earned him a demotion to the Long Reliever Gulag. A keener eye might see him as the #4 starter on this team, the position that he earned.
Baseball in the rain needs a closer look. Anybody who ever played the game knows how dangerous it is, and at the MLB level it is MLB dangerous. There is pressure on MLB to get the games played and make every effort to accept some rain. The rain yesterday in Philly should have made the game unplayable. But we'll only see more of this until somebody suffers some really serious, unnecessary injury.
